Near ground where Union and Confederate soldiers marched and camped during the defining battle of America’s Civil War, a supreme challenge of golf has been waged at The Links At Gettysburg – Golf’s Gettysburg address – since the first shots were fired in 1999.
Accolades from professional and amateur golfers pour in about the magnificent architecture, super playing conditions and signature service that distinguish The Links, one of Golfweek’s Top Ten public courses in Pennsylvania and a perennial “Four Star” rated facility by Golf Digest.
The Links, home course for Gettysburg College men’s and women’s golf teams and the Annual Orange & Blue Club Golf Classic, also plays host to the area’s only professional sporting event – “The Gettysburg Championship,” starring the women professional golfers of the Duramed FUTURES Tour. Song-Hee Kim of Seoul, Korea, emerged as the first Gettysburg Champion in 2006, winning on the second playoff hole. Kim, the tour’s leading money-winner for 2006, was one of five Duramed FUTURES pros to earn their LPGA exemptions for 2007. The tour returns to The Links on August 24-26, 2007.
